Great location on pedestrian street, buzzy but not noisy (1st floor room overlooking street, and with the balcony doors closed nothing could be heard at all). Great breakfast, with friendly staff. Welcoming reception. Quirky retro style was great!

Great location, great breakfast, comfortable beds, well thought out rooms & wonderful staff! My partner says it’s the best hotel he has ever stayed in and we would go back! Room overlooked street but no noise with doors closed & lovely ambience with them open, fantastic! Nothing was too much trouble for these lovely people. Special shout out to our amazing barman Mario who was not only an expert in beautiful beverages but was able to recommend the best spots for food and was a friendly face at the end of each day and with kind attention he made every customer feel welcome and at home ❤️

Location wise the hotel was perfectly situated to head out around the city without needing to worry about getting public transport and it was only about a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. The room itself was nice, generally clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff at the hotel were great, happy to hep with anything.

Absolute 10 stars across the board. Our stay was absolutely wonderful, from the checkin onwards. We received personalised attentions, which were highly appreciated! The room was comfortable, everything was new and working smoothly. Nice soft sheets, comfy bed and amazing long pillows. The shower is large and very good. Finally a design were the water doesn’t spill out everywhere. Our questions were answered in a swift and friendly manner by the highly professional reception staff. Delicious breakfast, excellent choice of food and drinks, and high level for a 4 star.

We're a bit biased, as we always book at a Mate when we travel to a city that has one :) We were checked in by a lovely lady with that Mate welcoming and accommodating vibe (unfortunately I didn't make a note of her name). People like her and Ramon in Barcelona make Mate special. Great central location, walking distance to bars and restaurants. As always great facilities coupled with tasteful decor and a calm ambiance. Spacious room and bathroom (wife loved the fact that we had a balcony). Their toiletries are top notch. Soundproofing is excellent if you consider how busy the surrounding streets can be at night.

A nice cozy hotel on Calle de las Huertas, which crosses the center of Madrid and has connections to other major streets of the historical part of the city. The hotel (and the room) was nicely furnished and clean. Breakfasts were great, a wide assortment of everything you may expect, coming together with a great and extremely friendly (and efficient) service. Fitness center (on the -1 floor of the building) although small, was clean and nicely equipped: with several machines (a running track, an elliptical machine, and a multipurpose device), a bench and a set of dumbbells. Room service was also on the level.

Excellent breakfast. Room was very comfortable, quiet and cozy. A very beautiful boutique hotel. The staff was very efficient, helpful and friendly, really special, we felt very welcome indeed. Location is very central, walking distance from the most important tourist attractions, like El Prado or Reina Sofia Museums, Plaza Mayor, Royal Palace. Some nice restaurants and shops to be found at the hotel street.

I booked this hotel solely for its aesthetic and a specific room that I liked in their photos, I was completely shocked to find out that it looked exactly the same as the photos if not better and I got the room that I liked the best and to which I had based my decision on. The staff was incredibly great, they always left notes and little treats after cleaning the room, the service was very quick and easy, the coziness level of this hotel is unbeatable honestly. It is by far one of the best hotels that I have stayed at and I would definitely do so again in any of their other branches.

* Great location - all you have to see in Madrid is within walking distance + many bars and restaurants * Spacious, bright, beautiful and very clean rooms + comfortable beds and duvets * Designer lobby and restaurant/bar (try the cucumber water in the lobby!) * Amazing breakfast - from 7 to 12 + very good coffee * Friendly and helpful staff - from a restaurant recommendation to marking all the sights on the map and talking about football teams * When we went to the hotel during the day for a short break, to drop off our shopping bags or to change clothes, we said "we're going home"

The location is central and within walking distance to the historic area, shops and restaurants. Yet rooms facing the street had good sound proofing and were quiet. The air conditioner worked perfectly during this hot summer, rooms were very clean, and beds were comfortable. We had connected rooms which is very convenient for families. The staff were super friendly and very welcoming. Unfortunately I couldn’t get their names but the receptionist on our arrival and at check out were very helpful.
